If you want to transport bike in train, then it can be done in 2 way

  1. As luggage: Bike will be loaded on the same train in which you would be traveling. This is the best way of transporting as you would be sure that bike will be delivered at the same time. For this you need to have CONFIRMED ticket and when compared to parcel its bit costly.

       Procedure to send from Bangalore

  • Book ticket and once it’s confirmed, visit railway parcel office and enquire.
  • Visit a day before your travel to the railway station and get it packed.
  • Parcel office will be open from 10 AM to 5 PM.
  • Empty fuel tank and remove mirror before packing. If you find difficult to empty the tank, hand over the bike to a packer who would get it done for you.
  • Carry bubble wrap (~ 2feet long) and use it for packing to avoid scratches on the bike. Once it is packed take it to parcel office.
  • Fill the form with necessary details with source and destination address.
  • Produce the photocopy of your vehicle document along with the form.
  • You need to get a sign from one of the officers on the back of the form, confirming that fuel tank is empty. They will ask you to start your bike and see if it does start or not.
  • Once paid the said amount, show the receipt to the loader, who will write the loading number on your bike and will ask you to write your name and phone number with a marker.
